Lately I get rather flooded with quite a number of requests from mainly Indian students asking for an internship. Nothing wrong with that, so far. But: Most of them don't just seek an opportunity for an internship, but also accomodation, and this is just not what we can provide. We (as any chair, for that matter) have only limited resources and therefore we are not able to *fund* your stay in Germany in any way. No salary. No room. No travel costs. We are happy to provide you with a work topic and working material (computer, office space), but for anything else you require your very own funding, be it local funding on your side or via DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). If you don't have funding, we are happy to exchange ideas with you, but please understand that we don't have the resources to fund those numerous applicants asking for an internship. If your courses require an abroad internship but your university does not provide required funding, then you should make clear to your university authorities that they are asking the impossible.
